Road Patrol Captain Harry J. Tompkins III was one of 251 law enforcement officers who graduated from the program, which is located in Quantico, Virginia.

The 275th Session of the National Academy comprised both men and women from 47 states. Included amongst them are members of law enforcement groups from D.C., five military organizations, 26 international countries and fire federal civilian organizations.

The national program is widely recognized for its academic excellence. Officers in the 10-week program have an average of 21 years of law enforcement experience and typically return to their agencies to executive-level positions.

“Captain Tompkins III is highly respected by all members of the Sheriff’s Office and we are all proud of him for his most recent accomplishment, his graduation from the FBI National Academy,” writes the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office in a press release.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office now has eight active members as well as 21 former members who have graduated from the FBI National Academy.
